The Kumari L.A. Meera Memorial Trust was established on the 28th of August, 1989, by Mr. L.K. Ananthakrishnan, in Palghat, Kerala State in memory of his daughter, Kumari L.A. Meera. The Trust is dedicated to the service of mankind, with a wide range of activities in the fields of Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science besides Anthropology and welfare and charitable activities. The Trust is managed by a Board of Trustees, the Managing Trustee being Mr. Ananthakrishnan until his demise in March 1998. The present Managing Trustee is Prof. V. Balakrishnan.

The main focus of the Trust is to foster scientific interaction and activity in the fields of Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science in various scientific institutions, and encourage science education and advanced scientific research in these and interface areas by providing scholarships. stipends and awards for meritorious and deserving students.
